Punisher: War Zone

Thomas Jane is out and Ray Stevenson is in for this action packed sequel to 2004's "Punisher" flick. You may recognize Stevenson from the HBO show "Rome" or from the movie "King Arthur." Even though I think Stevenson is a fine replacement for Thomas Jane, I have a bad feeling about this one. Jane will not be reprising his role as America's favorite vigilante due to major budget restraints. This is not a good sign for a sequel. In fact, rumor has it that Lionsgate was planning on making this a straight to DVD release at first. According to Jane, the budget for "Punisher: War Zone" was cut IN HALF. Stevenson isn't the only new face in this franchise, though. Wayne Knight(Seinfeld) will be playing Microchip, Dash Mihok(Hollywoodland, The Day After Tomorrow) will take star as Det. Martin Soap, and Dominic West(300) will play the mob assassin known as Jigsaw.

This post is rather useless. Worse than that, it perpetuates rumours that have no basis in fat. To learn what Tom Jane has to say about the budget of a film with which he is NOT affiliated is...well, spurious in the extreme. Much better information is available on the message board for this film on IMDB.

Pardon the typo, please. I mean no basis in "fact."

Actually, these aren't RUMORS. Most of this information can be backed up if you happen to read a Wizard magazine. But, seeing as you can't spell, I shouldn't expect you to be able to read.

Below is a link to an interview with Jonathan Hensleigh(writer/director of The Punisher)discussing the budget of Punisher 2. This is from when he was actually envolved with the film. Connect the dots, Nomad. Jane was preparing for the sequel for about two years. I think he would have a pretty damn good idea what the budget was going to be. Stop embarrassing yourself. http://www.mania.com/52934.html
